This easter weekend i went on the mission trail in San Antonio. The churches were beautiful, but what made them the coolest is that they were a place to learn about God, but were also a fortress. Built on the intent that that if a battle ever insued (against the savage Atakapan tribe) , they had all the war implements of a typical medieval castle. Inside the surrounding stone walls were crops, granaries, livestock buildings, and separate apartments for all the locals who were taught by the spainiards the catholic religion and the ways of the spanish.
